A Very Special Visit

Today, our first and second graders were treated to a visit by author/illustrator/musician/puppeteer David Hyde Costello. David shared some songs with students (including a love song to candy corn), after which he read his Halloween story Here They Come. Then, we all created and named a monster together. Finally, David opened the hobgoblin box and introduced us to "Wick Wick", who answered the children's questions in goblin-speak, which David translated into English.

The children seemed to have a wonderful time; I was proud of the  insightful questions asked by some of our second graders. Ask your child about their experience.

The library has all three of David's picture books which he signed and decorated with his artwork. Come by and check them out!
