Greetings from the Library and welcome to the new and improved Green Street School website. I would like to introduce myself to those of you who are new to the community. My name is Gail Fleming and this is my twelfth year at Green Street. Kindergarten parents should have received a notice earlier on describing pertinent library information. I am including some information below, as well.
Just a reminder, parents are welcome to establish a library account of their own in order to access the collection. Open House (October 13) would be a great time to do this, so please stop by. I look forward to meeting you. In the meantime I can be reached at:

Your child’s class will be visiting the Library Media Center on a weekly basis.
We will be reviewing appropriate library behaviors and expectations during the first weeks of classes.
Sometimes parents are frustrated when their child brings home a book that seems too hard for them: when a child is highly motivated by a favorite topic, he may very well choose a book that is NOT at reading level. This does not necessarily mean the book has no value for the child.
We can also help your child to find reading-level appropriate books, just let us know of any preferences you may have.
Parents are always welcome to access the library collection and choose books to enjoy with their child. We also have a Parenting collection for your use.
* Students must return their books in good condition in order to maintain borrowing privileges. Lost books or books damaged beyond repair must be paid for before students can resume borrowing privileges.
